By now, no doubt, you’ve seen and read many of the articles, blogs, reports, and Tweets discussing predictions for the eDiscovery and Information Management markets in 2010. We’d like to take this opportunity to also offer yet another set of predictions that we feel may have been missed by other pundits, analysts, contributors, vendors, and service providers in the market space. In no particular order:
- The EDRM will get a “fresh look” with pastel colors and a couple of more stages, just to keep everyone on their toes.
- Bono holds charity concert for attorneys buried in ESI; Angelina Jolie adopts one.
- Petabyte is the new terabyte.
- There will be mergers and acquisitions. I know, shocking.
- Lady Gaga releases remix single “eDisco Stick“.
- Apple gets into the game, but iDiscovery comes only in white and loadfiles are 99 cents.
- New CBS spin off: “ESI: Boston”.
- Everyone agrees on a single definition for Information Management; world peace ensues.
- Responding to the Tiger Woods scandal, player agents, lawyers and professional athletes will rush to find ESI solutions and develop new policies around texting, Tweeting, and Facebooking.
- The Mayans were wrong. The earth will come to an end in 2010, not 2012, under the weight of all the unstructured ESI in the world.
To be fair, we don’t have a very good track record for this kind of stuff, so let us know what your favorite predictions are for 2010. But to close out 2009, we’d like to wish you and yours a very happy New Year!
