As SharePoint continues to grow at 40% year-over-year, we’ve seen an increasing demand from customers to ensure that their eDiscovery and information governance capabilities keep pace with the growth of data in their SharePoint repositories and SharePoint’s evolution as a collaborative environment.

Most eDiscovery solutions are limited in their visibility and scope to just SharePoint Document Libraries and a subset of metadata. They also lack the intelligence to distinguish between multiple versions of documents, and may return very large and inflated data sets for content analysis. In contrast, the StoredIQ solution fully supports all core SharePoint object types and all associated metadata including: Blogs, Wikis, Comments, Discussion Boards, Calendars, Tasks, Contacts, Issue Trackers, Announcements, Surveys, Links, Project Tasks, Picture Libraries, Records Center and Document Libraries.

For a demonstration and more information, visit StoredIQ this week at LegalTech West in Los Angeles – booth #204 – or visit www.StoredIQ.com to download eDiscovery for SharePoint resources.

The AIIM Info360 conference focuses on helping companies find new ways to capture, store, analyze, access, and deliver enterprise information. AIIM Info360, will be held March 21 – 24, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC.

As part of the AIIM Info360 eDiscovery conference track, StoredIQ will be discussing the risks and costs of inefficient information management. Our goal is to help attendees understand the value of information intelligence across all their data sources, so information can be organized and managed according to specific policies and leveraged as an asset for eDiscovery, records management, governance and compliance.

WHERE: Walter E. Washington Convention Center —Washington, DC

WHEN: Wednesday, March 23 from 1:00 PM – 1:40 PM ET

TOPIC: Synchronize Your Approach to Information Management

DESCRIPTION: Organizations are forced to deal with vast and increasing amounts of unstructured information. IT departments have to operate on tighter budgets, and managing data is overwhelming. Organizations take a siloed approach to information management, dealing with eDiscovery, compliance and data storage separately; resulting in higher cost and increased business risk. Join StoredIQ vice president of field operations, Ellis Ishaya, as he discusses:

How a synchronized approach to records and information management enables organizations to cut costs and gain more insight and control over their critical data needs, especially in today’s highly-regulated business world.

How to properly find, classify and manage all information according to business value and risk.

How to ensure a comprehensive, secure and efficient approach to meeting their governance and compliance needs.

How to automate retention rules according to existing records retention schedules.

In addition to presenting, StoredIQ will exhibit our information intelligence solution at booth 1633 during the three-day event. Booth visitors can register to win a free data assessment service. Attendees that would like to schedule a meeting in advance should contact Jacqui Galow at info@storediq.com or +1 512-334-3156.
We had a great time at LegalTech New York last week, highlighted by a number of successful meetings and the chance to speak with industry experts about where the legal technology market is headed in the coming year.

While the cloud remains a hot topic, we didn’t see one theme dominating the news or conversations at the show. As usual, there were several product upgrade announcements, including our own announcement of enhanced eDiscovery support for SharePoint. David Roe covered our news in the CMS Wire GRC Roll-Up, and Sean Doherty provided a great recap in Wave of Product News Hits LegalTech New York.

We were also happy to see high attendance at LegalTech, which points to an increase in IT spending, as Gabe Acevedo pointed out his blog post, Fear and Loathing in LegalTech:

“The good news is that LegalTech seemed just about as big this year as it was last. It was hard to me to gauge whether or not it was bigger than it was in 2010, but the majority of people I spoke with thought that it was. That is a good sign for the economy and for the field of law.”

Monica Bay summed up the tone of the show nicely in her wrap-up post in the Common Scold blog:

“The conference had an unexpected undercurrent: optimism.”

After a couple of challenging years, it does feel as though the market is improving. May LegalTech be the start to a great 2011 for the eDiscovery market!

TOPIC: Driving Risk and Cost Out of the eDiscovery Process

DESCRIPTION:
From the obligation to identify and preserve, through to the critical processes of analysis and review, the entire eDiscovery process can be complicated and cumbersome. Developing and executing an eDiscovery preparedness plan that is repeatable, defensible, and cost effective often presents a challenge. Without the proper people, processes and tools, companies can incur legal risk and consume an enormous amount of time and resources. This presentation will give attendees the understanding of how their organizations can:

Create a foundation for an organized, systematic, and defensible approach to eDiscovery – resulting in predictable legal costs and reduced risk

Analyze data in the wild, and in real-time – making more informed strategic legal decisions earlier in the eDiscovery process and reducing downstream review fees

Create a symbiotic relationship between legal and IT – ensuring legally defensible audit trails throughout the eDiscovery process

CLE credits will be available for this educational session.
TOPIC: Reducing Electronic Discovery Costs

DESCRIPTION:

For many companies, a substantial portion of the law department budget is devoted to “electronic discovery,” a line item that is mysterious to most general counsel. Many companies have found they can reduce these costs substantially by innovating in the four key areas. Moderated by Tom Morrissey with Purdue Pharma, this session will focus on reducing discovery costs in each of these four distinct areas:

Identifying, preserving and collecting evidence

Minimizing data sets with automation

Analyzing quality and productivity

Optimizing document review

By analyzing data “in the wild” — prior to Collection and Preservation — without moving data; we can significantly accelerate the benefits of ECA for law firms and corporate counsel including:

Reducing the amount of data for downstream review

Formulating “settle vs. litigate” decision sooner

Collecting only smallest legally defensible data set
