Brian Smith

Managing Director, S3 Ventures
Brian Smith serves as managing director of S3 Ventures, where he leads the firm's efforts in the technology, infrastructure and software markets. At the age of 35, Brian co-founded the Convergent Investors Fund, a $70M early-stage venture capital firm in Texas. Serving as managing director of Convergent Investors, Brian oversaw investments in 10 technology companies. At age 29, he founded and served as chairman and CEO of Crossroads Systems (Nasdaq: CRDS). Brian led Crossroads through five rounds of venture, strategic and mezzanine financing and to a successful IPO in 1999. Brian managed Crossroads as a public company for nearly four years. In this role, he was an early pioneer in Storage Area Networks ("SANs"), which are industry standard solutions today. For his contributions, Brian was awarded the prestigious Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2000. He spent the first seven years of his career in electrical engineering positions holding product development roles within IBM Corporation's Technology Group.

Brian earned a BSEE with honors from the University of Cincinnati and an MSEE from Purdue University. He served on the board of Conformative Systems (acquired by Intel), Chicory Systems (acquired by CEVA) and Crossroads Systems (Nasdaq: CRDS). He currently serves on the boards of Invodo, OrthoAccel, Phurnace and StoredIQ.

Bruce Ezell

General Partner, Techxas Ventures

Bruce Ezell is general partner of Techxas Ventures, a private equity company backed by industry executives and institutional investors. Active investments include Medical Present Value, MegaPath, and StoredIQ.  Exits include BroadJump (merged with Motive/ IPO), Caleb Technologies (acquired by Accenture), Conformative Systems (acquired by Intel), iMark (acquired by FreeMarkets), SoloMio (acquired by OpenWave) and Spectral Genomics (acquired by Perkin Elmer). Prior to Techxas Ventures, Bruce was Dell Software & Peripherals General Manager, Dell Business Development Manager, and Ernst & Young Management Consultant. He also served as CFO of early-stage companies Underwater Technology (acquired by Somay) and LGI (Dell Finance).

John Kelley

Former CEO of McData, Industry Spokesperson and Ambassador for Non-Profit Organizations

John Kelley joined StoredIQ's board of directors in 2008. John has more than two decades of leadership and executive management experience at top storage, communications, and information technology companies. Most recently he was president and chief executive officer of McData Corporation, where he has also served as chairman of the board.

At McData, John increased the company's annual revenue from $200 million in 2001 to $630 million in 2006 by re-building the management team, modernizing aging company processes to meet compliance standards, and launching multiple products worldwide. John also served in other executive roles at Qwest Communications, U.S. West, Mead Corporation, Annatek, Alcatel, and Xerox Corporation. Additionally, he has also served on the board of directors for Polycom Corporation, 3Leaf Systems, Aztek Networks, and Captaris Corporation. He is a frequent keynote speaker on topics ranging from technology, leadership, best practices management to corporate ethics.

John is also highly active in the not-for-profit sector. He currently serves as vice chair of the board of directors at Mount St. Vincent Home, an institution serving children with emotional and behavioral disorders. Since 1997, Kelley has been a board member of the Colorado Women's Vision Foundation "Allies Group" whose mission it is to advance and retain corporate women leaders.

Susan Sheskey

Former SVP and CIO of Dell, Inc.

Susan Sheskey joined StoredIQ's board of directors in 2008. Susan's career spans over 30 years of executive management; most recently she served as senior vice president and chief information officer for Dell, Inc.

Susan's distinguished career includes serving as a vice president within the information technology (IT) department at Dell for 12 years before she was appointed the position of chief information officer in 2005. She is a noted authority on eCommerce, supply chain and data warehousing technologies. With her leadership, Dell IT was honored with the "CIO 100" award from CIO Magazine in 2006 and 2007 for their innovative use of technologies enabling sales/order management and mobile application delivery. Prior to Dell, Susan held leadership positions at Ameritech and Ohio Bell, where she gathered essential planning, development and operational experience.

James Schellhase

President and Chief Executive Officer
As president and CEO of StoredIQ, James brings a wealth of executive leadership, as well as technology and venture business experience to the company. With a proven track record of achieving immediate and long-term profits and shareholder value, James establishes and oversees the company's operations and strategic direction.

Prior to joining StoredIQ in 2007, James was COO and general partner at Techxas Ventures, where he successfully established all financial, operational, and reporting systems and controls to maximize productivity and functionality for the firm. Prior to Techxas Ventures, James was president and CEO of Rodeer Systems, an industry leading medical transcription company. Prior to Rodeer Systems, James was the COO at IntelliQuest Information Group, which grew from a 20-person start-up to a profitable, rapidly growing technology marketing research company that completed successful initial and secondary public offerings with a market capitalization of $300 million. James also held executive positions at Jones and Neuse and First Federal Savings. He started his career with Deloitte and Touche in their financial services and mergers and acquisitions group. James has served on the Board of Directors for numerous technology companies, charitable and civic organizations.
