StoredIQ Storage Management leverages advanced classification technology to identify infrequently accessed files and migrates them from expensive, high-performance primary storage to lower cost, secondary storage locations.  Additionally, StoredIQ can identify and dispose of data with no business value or compliance mandates, executing and maintaining existing file plans and records management policies.

StoredIQ provides deep integration into file systems and NAS devices that communicate using CIFS, NFS and Netware protocols. StoredIQ supports both active and passive Hierarchical Storage Management (HSM) policies with active integration into both NetApps FPolicy and EMC File Mover interfaces. HSM policies can be defined to use EMC's Centera, NetApp Snaplock or any NFS/CIFS share as the secondary storage target.  The StoredIQ Storage Management solution is uniquely suited to manage storage system migrations through its ability to retain and move data objects without changing metadata attributes or security permissions.  Digital signatures are recorded before and after any movement of objects to ensure that the entire contents are preserved.

Administration tools are provided to monitor and correct any discrepancies that may occur over time for the migrated files and their associated links or stubs.  StoredIQ also features a comprehensive storage management dashboard that articulates storage utilization by owner, duplicate objects, activity, age, location, type and category enabling storage administrators to easily view and manage data over time.
